Stavros is a Senior Lecturer, Head of Anatomy and Course Director for the Postgraduate Certificate (PgCert) in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Imaging in the School of Allied and Community Health, within the Institute of Health and Social Care, at London South Bank University (LSBU) in the United Kingdom (UK). He also serves as Ultrasound Demonstrator in the Medical School at University of Cambridge.

 

In addition to his academic role, Stavros works as a Band 7 MSK Sonographer in the radiology department at Queen's Hospital NHS Trust in Romford, London.

 

His professional background includes work as an Athletic Therapist with elite football teams, including Barnet F.C. and Queens Park Rangers (QPR) F.C.

 

Stavros holds significant roles within professional organisations. He is the Deputy Editor of the Ultrasound Journal for the British Medical Ultrasound Society (BMUS), an Accreditor with the Consortium for the Accreditation of Sonographic Education (CASE), and an External Examiner for the BSc and MSc Radiography and Medical Ultrasound programmes at Birmingham City University (BCU). He also serves as a Reviewer for The Ultrasound Journal of the World Interactive Network Focused on Critical Ultrasound (WINFOCUS), as the Committee Chair for the Research and Education Committee at the World Federation of Athletic Therapy (WFATT), and is the Treasurer of the Greek Athletic Therapy Association (GATA).

 

Currently, Stavros is undertaking his PhD at LSBU focusing on the use of diagnostic ultrasound imaging. He is an active member of the British Medical Ultrasound Society (BMUS), the British Association of Sport Rehabilitators (BASRaT), and the British Association of Sports and Exercise Medicine (BASEM).
