Long head of biceps tendon - Instability

Writer's picture: SonoPedicsSonoPedics

Short axis view of the long head of biceps tendon. Left is medial, right is lateral.

Proximally, at the level of the greater and lesser tuberosities, the long head of biceps tendon is exhibiting medial dislocation outside the bicipital groove/intertubercular sulcus.

The tendon also presents with thickening of the substance in keeping with tendinosis due to chronic attrition from recurrent subluxations. No hyperaemia was observed under Power Doppler.
